This Thurday September 2nd
I have thirteen pieces in this show. One of the pieces is brand new and even slightly wet when i hung it. I have included along side the new work a bunch of my favorite pieces that I did at the beginning of the year. Also at this show there will be a raffle for a leather bound copy of the gallery 788 1st year book so show up early and buy tickets, I have a picture of my works in the book so I'm stoked.

postmodern?
Bricolage (pronounced /ˌbriːkɵˈlɑːʒ/ or /ˌbrɪkɵˈlɑːʒ/) is a term used in several disciplines, among them the visual arts and literature, to refer to the construction or creation of a work from a diverse range of things that happen to be available, or a work created by such a process. The term is borrowed from the French word bricolage, from the verb bricoler, the core meaning in French being, "fiddle, tinker" and, by extension, "to make creative and resourceful use of whatever materials are at hand (regardless of their original purpose)". In contemporary French the word is the equivalent of the English do it yourself, and is seen on large shed retail outlets throughout France. A person who engages in bricolage is a bricoleur.

June Show At Gallery 788
Good news I have more new work up at Gallery 788 in Pigtown. The show last month went well, and I've been invited back and given a larger wall space which is awesome. So if you'd like to see some of my newly completed smaller work along side some of my larger pieces I'd suggest stopping by 788 Washington Boulevard during the month of June. Or you can scroll down and see a few close ups from the show.

This maybe the first art review I've ever had
So I have a painting up at the Wind Up Space in Baltimore and the show recently had a review. So if anyone out there stumbles on this site go read the review. I'm excited just to be mentioned at all. In the next two weeks I will have 4-5 pieces in an actual gallery. I will wait to give official information about it, but its very exciting to have work hung in an actual art gallery. The gallery will be my first as well. Things seem to be happening rapidly at the moment. Oh yes and i should post photos of the new piece Ive been working on over the last two days perhaps tonight.

An interesting fellow
18 recent paintings left the studio to be photographed. I am working on a 4ft x 4ft painting with influences pulled from byzantine art work and ancient mathematics. I will take some in progress photos and post soon. sometimes when i post these things i act as though i am speaking to those who may find my work interesting, but in retrospect I think that i am the only person to actually read this blog so really i'm just speaking to myself which is slightly depressing.
